The birthplace of rum is the islands of the Caribbean, or rather, cane plantations. The first rum was made from cane juice fermented under the scorching equatorial sun, sweet, strong and very fragrant. Initially, it was a drink of slaves, it was reduced in price and began to be made from molasses - a by-product of sugar production. There are many myths and legends around the history of rum, creating a romantic flair, giving sensuality and mysticism to its use. The traditional drink of pirates and adventurers, rum, has been rightfully recognized as a worthy drink. Rum played one of the decisive roles in the American Revolution - it was a bone of contention in the division of the monopoly on its export from New England.

The taste and strength of rum vary depending on the place of its production, technology and traditions, and are acquired as the drink matures - fermentation, aging. Rum has notes of exotic fruits and molasses, honey, caramel and more subtle shades of tobacco, leather and spices.
